Thank you for supporting our league!
Thank you for supporting our league!
Q – How do I sign up my child for spring ball?
A – Regular sign ups begin in December and run through March and April, depending on division. Please click on the “Click Here for Team Sign-up” icon.
Q – Does Wolverine play on weekends?
A – No. We play Monday – Thursday for most divisions. We like to leave weekends open for you and your family.
Q – What are the divisions for spring ball?
A – Below are the ages for each division and nights they play. Your son or daughter can “play up” if you and the coach believe their skill level is appropriate and safe for the older division. We encourage players to “play up” and feel that it challenges them to improve their skill level. Older kids cannot play down in younger divisions.
Divisions:
4-6 T-Ball (coed) Monday and Wednesday evenings
6-8 Coach Pitch (coed) Tuesday and Thursday evenings
****** If your child is 6 years old, they have the option to play T-ball or Coach Pitch. If your child has some experience, Coach Pitch is recommended.
Boys Baseball (coed *see note below)
- 8-10 – Minors Division, player pitch: Monday and Wednesday evenings
- 11-12 – Majors Division, player pitch: Monday/Tuesday and Thursday evenings
- 13-15 – AAA Division, player pitch: Monday/Tuesday and Thursday evenings
* We especially value your daughters who play team sports. They may find special challenges when playing in our upper divisions and we would appreciate the opportunity to review their desire to play in more competitive divisions as they arise.
Q – Will I have to travel for games?
A – We are allied with both the Conklin/Coopersville/Marne leagues and travel to their locations for regular season games for Minors, Majors and AAA Divisions. Please see the <Fields> tab for field locations. Home games for Minors and Majors are held at Meijer Sports Complex in Rockford, as well as other local fields.
Q – I would like my Company Logo on a Team. How can I do that?
A – We welcome new and returning sponsors.
- Click on the “Sponsorship Form” icon and fill out the form. Fill in the details and pay your sponsor fee by credit card or place check in the mail to get set up with a team. Teams and colors are first come, first serve, so if you are looking for a specific color, contact us right away to lock it in.
- Email the league for questions about the sponsor form. wolverineyouthbaseball@gmail.com
Q – Are there restrictions based on where we live to play in Wolverine Ball?
A – No. We do not have restrictions to participate in our league. We have many from Rockford, Belmont, Northview, Cedar Springs, Algoma, and Sparta.
Q – What if I don’t have Internet to view schedules?
A – If you are unable to connect to the internet just keep your coach’s number available so you may contact them with any questions. The coaches will have a copy or your registration form and will confirm your player prior to the first practice. We share all of the schedules in advance to help everyone with their planning.
Q – Can my child switch to a different team?
A – Once teams are drafted by the coaches, we order uniforms so that we may get them in on time for games. We do not move players around after the teams are set due to the necessity of balancing the team rosters, and that we would also have to order a single new uniform. We do our best with player requests.
Q – How may I become an Umpire?
A- Any player 13+ years of age interested in umpiring, please let us know at sign-ups in the spring or email wolverineyouthbaseball@gmail.com your information.
Q – Where can I get the practice and/or game schedules?
A – Click on the <SCHEDULES> tab above. The coaches will have the schedule and will confirm with you prior to the first practice.
Q – What is unique about Wolverine Baseball?
A – Below is what other parents had to say about Wolverine Baseball. We appreciate these survey answers as it reminds us what to stay focused on…
EMAIL RECEIVED BY PARENTS ABOUT WHAT THEY LIKE…
“No Saturday games – all games are after work during the week. Frees up families to do family things on the weekends.”
“Not as many rules compared to others. All your rules are based on common sense.”
“No mandate to have the parents miss their child’s game just to run a concession stand.”
“Allow the kids to just play ball and be a part of a team.”
and Wolverine would also like to add..
“We do our best to keep the cost as low as possible for players to participate.”

Q – When does the spring season begin and end?
A – Below are the start and end dates for each division.
4-6 coed T-Ball and 6-8 Coach Pitch:
Begins the first week in May (so it’s warmer for the younger ones) and ends about the second week in June. T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams play twice per week. No weekends! We begin with practices only and then add in games (with potential practices in between).
8-10 Minors Division:
Practices begin the week after spring break (early April). Games begin the first of May. Playoffs begin about the second week in June. The teams play twice per week on Monday and Wednesday. No weekends!
11-12 Majors Division:
Practices begin the week after spring break (early April). Games begin the first of May. Playoffs begin about the second week in June. The teams play twice per week on Monday/Tuesday and Thursday. No weekends!
13-15 AAA Division:
Practices begin the week after spring break (early April). Games begin the first of May. The teams play twice per week on Monday/Tuesday and Thursday. No weekends! We have had tournaments in the past with the Conklin/Coopersville/Marne leagues that completes the season.
Q – How are teams selected?
A – See the information below….
Minors, Majors, and AAA Divisions:
Coaches and players from the previous season remain together (please list names in player requests) unless a player/parent wants their child to be placed on a different team. The Division Lead reviews player requests, schools, ages, and years of experience to place players on teams. NOTE: Siblings are always kept on the same team unless the parents request otherwise. We do this to help parents in scheduling, transportation, etc.
T-Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions:
We just do our best to keep kids from the same school, etc. together. We want them to have a fun time with their first experience on a baseball team. You are welcome to write in a player request in your online registration. We will do our best.
Q – My child has decided they don’t want to play now. Can I get a refund?
A – No refunds are given once you have signed your player up. We pre-pay for many things such as uniforms, equipment for the league, insurance, web site work, fields, etc.. and it’s just too much work having to re-organize a team and update all the necessary league attributes. We ask that you make sure your players are certain that they really want to play because of the amount of team planning that must happen.
